Crazy Pretty and new Freebies!

When I was given this palette to work with, I wasn’t thrilled. It seemed too harsh for my tastes, but I decided to at least give it a try and I’m so glad that I did. I think it turned out Crazy Pretty (hence the name) compared to what I was expecting.  I think this has turned out to be one of my favorites that I’ve created so far. I hope you enjoy it as much as I have.

My Memories

This kit is smaller than usual for me, containing 12 papers, a full upper and lower case alpha with numbers and common punctuation, plus 29 elements.

One of my CT, Maria Hooley recently turned me on to an awesome sight for free templates. The templates run the gamut of traditional style templates to an artsy, with lots of masks and brushes! I instantly fell in love and downloaded a couple dozen! Yes, I love freebies too!

You can find this treasurer trove of free templates here: Freebie Site

“Crazy Pretty” is a great kit that lends itself to a variety of styles from more traditional to the artsy! Here are two layouts that I did with the kit. The first uses a free “My life in pictures” template from Chunlin Designs. I didn’t do a lot of altering to the template except switching out the stitching for the arrows. A fun pretty layout! The paper is used from the kit is Crazy Warm Paper 6 (the background) and I clipped CrazyHot4 paper to the paint behind the photos.

This second layout is one of the free templates from the site I just shared with you! I wanted to get a completely different look with the kit! I used template named SS21-13616 and I love the result!

I used the crazy warm paper 2 from the kit for the background. I really liked the white textures in the template and the depth they gave to the layout so I kept them as is. I clipped Crazy Warm paper 6 to the bottom white paint layer. Then I clipped Crazy Hot 3 and 4 to the two brush layers. I also clipped Crazy Hot paper 2 to the wire and kept the style used from the template. Last, I added Crazy Pretty Cluster 2 to the background just under the photos and set the blend mode to darken to blend it into the rest of the layout.

Here is some inspiration from the team:
